Leigh Centurions Community department have recently had three new additions to their staff in John Duffy, Stuart Donlan and David Armitstead.
John will be taking over from Shane Eccles who has left to join the RFL and delivering the Active 4 Fun programme around the Bolton area. While Dave will be focusing on delivering in Primary Schools with Heather, assisiting on the club and the Learning Zone s Numeracy day and sporadic social inclusion sessions. Stuart will be utilising his Foundation Degree studies to help the community department to deliver RLLA courses in High Schools, undertake healthy living sessions and assemblies in Primary Schools and mentoring Key Stage 2 children in our education study support centre.
Community Development Manager Hannah Forbes said of the appointments:
"Having John, Dave and Stuart working the department is such a bonus for the work we undertake in the Community, all three of the lads are great role models for the younger community, they are an asset to the work we already deliver, I m sure the local younger community will look forward to them coaching in their schools and community venues around the town."
The Community Department are currently delivering in numerous schools including St Thomas Primary, Atherton Sacred Heart Primary, Chowbent in Atherton, St Gabriels Primary, Higher Folds Primary, Golborne High School, Bolton School, Horwhich Parish Primary, Rivington and Blackrod High School, St Catherines Primary-Bolton, Blackrod Church Primary and St Osmond Primary-Bolton.
